File Upload (beta test)
This page allows you to submit three images (with their commentaries) to the gallery. They will not appear in the gallery immediately, but they will be added within 24hrs in the next gallery update.
The files should be in JPEG format and be 500 pixels or less in their maximum dimension and under 100 Kbytes in size. The commentary should be 50-100 words and describe your thoughts on the image. You can add equipment details if you wish, but the commentary should be more than just which camera and lens you used. If you don't use at least 50 words in your commentary, you won't be able to upload the image. This is because for this gallery, what you say about the image is as important as the image itself and you can't say much in under 50 words.
Please be selective in what you submit and chose what you think are three of your more interesting images
If you submit files over 500 pixels in any dimension, they'll automatically be downsized via a high quality resizing algorithm and a slight unsharp mask will be applied to maintain the original image sharpness. You can use this resizing feature if you want - and it works very well - but you want absolute control over the final image you might want to do the downsizing and optimization before uploading the image. Files with a maximum dimension of 500 pixels or less will not be altered in any way (no resizing, no compression, no USM). Please note that there is a hard limit of 1MB on file upload size, so please don't try to upload images straight from a digital camera at their original size.
You should upload all three images at the same time. There's currently no simple way to upload them one by one at different times, though I may add that ability later. If you have already uploaded images you cannot upload new ones to overwrite the old ones unless you contact me first. If you try, the upload will simply fail and you will get an error message that you have already uploaded files.
